Meet the Adorable Cat-hletes of the Feline Olympics | Kitten Summer Games 2016
Purrty Paw-some Cat-hletes!
What’s more lovable about the Kitten Summer Games 2016 is all the competitors are sheltered kittens. These ex-abandoned cute furry balls were rescued by North Shore Animal League America. The group helps to connect these kittens to an adoptive family.
Banking on the success of the Kitten Bowls, Hallmark Channel decided to hold a feline spoof the Olympics. Its goal is to raise animal rights, adoption and shelter awareness. Beth Stern, who is North Shore’s goodwill ambassador will also be playing an important role in this pun-filled event.
Here are the top cat-hletes and their coaches!
1. Tennis: Felina Williams
Felina Williams is notorious at attacking and collecting shoelaces on her spare time. She plays volleyball with friends Pawdre Ag-hissy and the notorious John Mcnmeow.
2. Gymnastics: Nadia Come n Scratch Me
Up and coming gymnastics phenomenon Nadia Come-N-Scratch Me was discovered in an abandoned hardware store while balancing on rails. Expect some action in the uneven bars where the competitors showed their agility from the higher bar to the lower bar.
3. Track and Field: Hissing Bolt
Hissing Bolt was just cleared on his CAT Scan before the competitions started. His paw has healed nicely. Sources say that he had an altercation with another cat during the meowrathon.
4. Boxing: Jasper
That is Jasper at the foreground. Watch out for his action on this unusual boxing competition. We have heard news that there is a special twist to this event. Be sure to root for Jasper!
5. Volleyball: Olive
Olive and her team are actually good at making spikes and digs! Gabrielle Reece will be making a cameo appearance on the show to support Catty Reece.
6. High Jump, Pole Vault: Freckles
Contending for the high jump and pole vaulting event is Freckles. Do not let her cuteness fool you. She is one determined cat.
7. Pole Vault: Toffee
Toffee is definitely a toughie! He has no fear of heights. He will be among a couple of cats aiming to take the gold in the pole vaulting competition.

Meet the wind beneath our cat-hletes’ wings, their coaches:
1.Gymnastics Coach: Bela Cat Rollie
Bela Cat-Rollie gives a long hissing to her team when they do not listen to her advice. Her team has been training with her at the woods of East Moncata.
2. Volleyball Coach: Pounce De Leon
Pounce De Leon is another tough coach for the volleyball team. He does not rely on his cat’s nine lives and insists that practice is the key to his team’s success.
Check out Olympians Nadia Come-N-Scratch Me, Hissimone Biles and others as they compete in the gymnastics during the Kitten Summer Games! Thanks to Kitten Bowl for this video:
There was a lot of crazy cat fights during the Kitten Summer Games 2016. It can’t be helped that some did cat naps in the middle of their competition. Still, some cats really outshined the others with their purr-fect cat-hletic skills in the scratch-free gymnasium.
It is the organizers hope that after the event you would want to take one of these cute kitties back home.
By the way, catcalling is allowed in the Kitten Summer Games 2016!
